Product Review: Burberry Beauty Line

I've been wanting to check out the newly launched Burberry Beauty Line but couldn't find the time.
Finally, my time came and off I go to the one and only Burberry Beauty counter in Isetan, KLCC...

I reached KLCC around 8.30pm, yes still sempat...another hour to go before the shop closes ;)
Itupun I drive se-laju mungkin :P

Before that, let's look at some of the pictures I took (tanpa segan silu)...

In February 2011, Burberry launched it's first beauty line in Malaysia that consist of products:-

For Eyes

Burberry Beauty Sheer Eyeshadow Eye Enhancer (RM 105.00 each for 2.5g)
Available in 20 shades ranging from beautiful earth colors to light and  dark purples and blues.

Burberry Beauty Eye Definer Eye Shaping Pencil (RM 78.00 each)
Available in 5 shades - black, midnight blue, brown, dark brown and purple)

The reason why I was rushing to the Burberry counter is because of this invitation from Citibank :)

So happily I skipped to the counter to receive my FREE makeover which made me look like this...
(Psssttt...spot any difference?)

Yeap, it's nothing much different because Burberry beauty is suppose to help enhance your natural beauty, hence the natural eartly color selection. The models on their print ads can vouch for this.

Here's what they used on me:-

From left:

Soft Satin Lipstick No. 3 in Cameo Pink,
Sheer Foundation No. 4,
Light Glow Natural Blush No. 3 in Rose Blush,
Lip Glow Natural Lip Gloss in No. 2 Nude,

Notice how everything is called 'sheer'?

Overall I find the Burberry Beauty line exceeds my expectation. However, if you are on a tight budget, you may NOT want to splurge on these. Price wise, although it is pretty expensive it is however acceptable if compared to fellow designer items such as Chanel, Dior, YSL and Estee Lauder.

Texture is OK and pretty pigmented (which came as a surprise for me) though I find the eyeshadow quite powdery but on average it is fine.

So far, I do like the line but I hope they would come out with more younger, fresh colored eyeshadows in the near future. I know their objective is to keep it natural, but I do believe that they may not want to be dubbed as the next Bobbi Brown based on their color selection.

In my opinion, products worthy to try from the Burberry Beauty line are:-

Burberry Beauty Sheer Foundation
Love - the silky texture as it has a silicone base that will provide a smooth and dewy look for you all day long

Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick
Love - the many different types of pinks!!! Usually, I don't look good in nudes & corals but from this line, I look good in those hues!

The other reason why you should get your hands on it is because of the cool classic checkered design on their casings and on their products.

I got hooked on the lipstick No.3 in Cameo Pink not only because it is very moisturising but also because of its cool casing which is magnetic!! Haha. I'm such a sucker for cool packaging with cool design. *sigh*

Look at the prints on the lipstick, isn't that just lovely?

Here's what they did to my eyes...
Note: I never look good and never use blue eyeshadows much. Mainly because all blue eyeshadows change color on me after a few minutes. Most of the time it will change to either black, grey or green *sigh*

But surprisingly, this color remained blue on me even after a few hours later.

 Owh look, they even have Kabuki brushes! (RM 215.00)

So after the simple makeover, I received free samples from Burberry and went back home with a fluttering heart :)
